SPIRITUAL REALITY:
There is no life that is not also a condition of consciousness and, therefore, a karmic situation, which is to say, a stage or process being experienced by a spiritual being in relationship with other spiritual beings. In other words, life is not only a-causal, but also causal in the individual. If you think you already know this, you may have to think again. The aphorism “you create your own reality” is often a first call from the deepest recesses of the Spiritual Self. It is, of course, meaningless if divorced from the Law of Adjustment, also known as the Law of Karma, which states that we ourselves will come to experience everything that we cause others to experience. So, in fact, we co-create our shared reality. Spiritual Reality does not exist until we pass from self-awareness to We-awareness.

The greatest error of the “self-improvement” brokers is their complete disregard of Karma and their delusion that anything can be had if the individual desires it strongly enough and can overcome whatever psychological barriers they may have separating them from their desires. They also ignore or gloss over the real meaning of creation and instead concern themselves with devising ways of moulding a more egotistically-gratifying personal situation out of the pre-existing reality of a materialistic society. And yet the “self-improvement” brokers insist upon trying to activate the spiritual faculties within the chakras in order to gain advantages in a materialistic society. The very idea of “visualization for success” means that a spiritual faculty, namely the ajna or brow chakra, the gate to the Third Eye and the inner spiritual dimensions, is being exploited, not to create anything of a spiritual nature, but to grasp at egotistical and narcissistic wants related to known material objects and images in a materialistic society.
The greedy use of spiritual faculties to secure material wants is the psychic equivalent of pornography and is a vulgar insult to the divine within the Self. What kind of people can encourage and profit by this? It is obvious that we can’t want something that we can’t imagine, but the only ethical realization of physical needs and wants is through work within the laws that pertain to external life. By the same token, spiritual development will involve an increasingly informed and spiritually enlightened attitude towards the challenges of everyday life.

“Visualization for success” is, at best, delusional and, at worst, leads the unwary individual into very dangerous psycho-spiritual states and the abomination of the forbidden arts. The use of magical powers for self-centred motives is always a violation of Spiritual Law, which, in turn, burdens the Self with deeply regressive mental and psychic Karma for lifetimes to come.

“You create your own reality” is a challenge to embark upon a journey of Self-discovery, of Self-realization, to discover how and with whom the present reality came into existence in the first place. Only when the heart and mind are free of distortion is this state of transparent Self-awareness “in the Clearing” possible.

To be sure, psychology has seized power proclaiming itself to be the most hopeful avenue of developmental self-transparency, and this for a century already. Media and consumer-driven Western culture is by now so deeply conditioned by the assumptions of psychologism that the pure spiritual aphorism has been reduced to pop-psychological terms. Psychologism can only concern itself with the effects of personal, manifest Karma and not its causes, because that is all its assumptions allow it to see.

The analysis of the content of the Astral Aura, in order to recondition it according to some normative standard of psychological health, can provide some band-aid relief from psychic suffering, but it can never awaken to the innermost Spiritual Self. Psychologism’s failure to come to terms with the whole nature of the human being and make it transparent to itself is proof positive that psychology is neither Wholistic nor Ecological in theory or practice. And so now vast numbers of intelligent human beings have been brainwashed to the point where, when they look within, they become hypnotized by their problematic, psychological content and have been thus rendered blind to their true identity as a whole being, a living Spiritual Self.
It is the Spiritual Self, also known as the Higher Self, which is the source and animating principle of Individual Reality. The Spiritual Self is, by its very nature, unable to act in an arbitrary manner, because its reality is predetermined by the cosmic principle that has given it life and caused it to be an evolutionary being throughout the whole “Cycle of Incarnation”.
“The Secret Doctrine” states it thus:
“The fundamental identity of all souls with the Universal Over-Soul, the latter being itself an aspect of the Unknown Root [the Absolute] and the obligatory pilgrimage of every Soul – a spark of the former – through the Cycle of Incarnation (or “Necessity”) in accordance with Cyclic and Karmic law, during the whole term. In other words, no purely spiritual Buddhi (Divine Soul) can have an independent (conscious) existence before the spark which issued from the pure Essence of the Universal Sixth Principle – or the Over-Soul – has (a) passed through every elemental form of the phenomenal world of that Manvantara (great age of creation), and (b) acquired individuality, first by natural impulse, and then by self-induced and self-devised efforts (checked by its Karma), thus ascending through all the degrees of intelligence, from the lowest to the highest Manas (spiritual mind), from mineral and plant up to the holiest archangel (Dhyani-Buddha). The pivotal doctrine of the Esoteric philosophy admits no privileges or special gifts in Man, save those won by his own Ego (Spirit Self) through personal effort and merit throughout a long series of metempsychoses (transformations of soul) and reincarnations.”
The “Awakening”, then, is knowledge of Spiritual Law. The Spirit-Self lights up within the self as Authentic Identity. The “Spiritual Awareness Space” opens within this life as it is now, in addition to the present reality of the individual.
It is not surprising when the socially and psychologically-conditioned personality maintains a shallow and self-centred attitude, if not outright hostility, towards the New Spirituality, for this is just one of the many forms that “checked by its Karma” can take.

The present life situation calls for complete Self-realization before attempts are made to bring about radical changes of direction and life purpose. The present reality, regardless of what it may be, is already a spiritual condition, reflecting a karmic situation. The psychological perspective sees only a fragmented part of the self and mistakes it for the whole. The very fact that the individual has been found by the New Spirituality, and recognizes it as what he or she has always been longing to find, is sound evidence that it is the Silent Individual who guides the path of destiny and not the socially-defined intellect mired in its problem-filled, psychological content. Only the Awakened Spiritual Self can give real meaning to life.
